SUMMARY:Laetare Lecture: New Voices. New Talent. Time for New Roles for Women in the Church?
DESCRIPTION:In Church & Livestreamed\nThis year’s Laetare Lecture will be given by Kerry Robinson\, founder of Leadership Roundtable\, entitled “New Voices. New Talents. Time for New Roles for Women in the Church?” Kerry’s talk will be a provocative discussion of ways the Church can further its mission by tapping into women’s gifts—spiritual\, intellectual\, moral\, decision-making and management skills. Isn’t it time? \nWe will also feature the exhibition “Celebrating Women of St. Ignatius: Past\, Present\, Future”\, which will be centered on large-size photos of 130 women of our parish on display in the church. And you can read their personal faith stories. Don’t miss this unique chance to “meet” these women and “hear” their voices! \nPlus\, our parish will be recognizing four women for their decades of service—Maureen Fullam\, Pattie Hughes\, Jean Junker\, and Kathy Murnion. Come\, be part of that celebration! \nSee you on March 11th! Come at 6:30 pm so you have time to get a good look at the photos and read the personal statements. \n(Seating in the church on March 11th will adhere to social distancing rules. Masks and prior registration will be required.) \nTo register\, click here.

SUMMARY:Webinar: Catholic Women in Global Health: Mothers and Children
DESCRIPTION:Many of the most at-risk mothers and children in the developing world live in rural settings with limited access to even basic health care. CMMB (Catholic Medical Mission Board) works with community health workers\, village health committees\, local clinics\, and hospitals to ensure that care is delivered to families living where the road ends. Engaging community members in this process has proved especially critical during the pandemic when seeking health care might itself be a source of risk. Finding ways to reduce the risk of Coronavirus spreading while still promoting the most basic health services that each year prevent the deaths of thousands of women and children around the world has created an unprecedented challenge. Community-based approaches are valuable and the strengthening of clinics and hospitals is still a necessary component of life-saving solutions. \nTo register\, click here. \n\n \n \n \n \n Moderator: Jana I. SUMMARY:Webinar/Panel Discussion: “At Work I’m in Charge\, in Church I’m Invisible”
DESCRIPTION:Part of the 2021 Lecture Series “Catholic Women: Agents of Peace and Trust in the Church and in the World” \nAs Catholics and Americans\, we face many challenges as we look to the future. The Coronavirus pandemic has further strained the church and other institutions that were formerly a source of stability\, such as our health care system and even the stability of our democracy.  We have assembled a panel of Catholic women physicians and scientists who will share how their faith has informed their professional development and their response to these challenges\, and the solutions they envision for the future. \nTo register\, visit https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_d_orbeXuQ5G_AU8KDZQEMw \nThe Panel: \n\n \n \n \n \n Moderator: Dr. Paula Olsiewski\, Ph.D.\, Contributing Scholar\, Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security\n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Maria Jasin\, Ph.D.\, Researcher\, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center\n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Mary Brady\, MD\, FACS\, Surgeon\, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center\n \n \n \n \n \n Dr. Sarah Lilly\, MD\, Internal Medicine\, Lenox Hill Hospital
