SUMMARY:Concert: Isabelle Demers\, organ
DESCRIPTION:NP Mander Organ Recital Series \nIsabelle Demers’ recital for the 2010 International Society of Organbuilders-American Institute of Organbuilders convention “left the entire congress in an atmosphere of “Demers fever” ̶ something that continues unabated over a decade years later. Possessing “bracing virtuosity” (Chicago Classical Review)\, she has enraptured listeners worldwide with spell-binding performances. Born in Québec and a graduate of Juilliard\, Dr. Demers is the newly-appointed Associate Professor of Organ at McGill University in Montréal. Her acclaimed recordings on the Acis and Pro Organo labels have been heralded as “expressive…profound and searching” (RSCM’s Church Music Quarterly). \nTo purchase tickets\, click here.

SUMMARY:Concert: Scott Dettra\, organ: Cesar Franck Bicentennial—The Complete Organ Works (Part 2)
DESCRIPTION:N.P. Mander Organ Recital Series \nTHIS IS PART TWO OF TWO CONCERTS. The first half of the program will be performed in Part 1 and the second half of the program will be performed the next night in Part 2. Tickets to each part are sold separately. \nIn celebration of César Franck’s bicentennial in 2022\, American concert organist Scott Dettra will undertake an international tour of Franck’s 12 major organ works\, performed from memory in two 75-minute recitals on consecutive evenings. Franck’s organ music—arguably the most significant contribution to the repertoire after that of Bach—broke new ground and charted the course of the French Romantic organ school. Thanks to his mature harmonic language and ability to write achingly beautiful melodies\, this music has become an enduring foundation of the organ repertoire. \nPraised for the clarity\, rhythmic intensity\, and musical elegance of his playing\, Mr. Dettra will bring his hallmark poeticism and suave sense of expression to this beloved music\, which is rarely performed live in its entirety. \nTo purchase tickets\, click here.
