13 Drivers’ Licenses

May 7 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us as the Ignatian Interfaith Ministry commemorates Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with an extraordinary story of discovery, exploration, reflection and reconciliation.

In February 2017, a cache of 13 driver’s licenses, confiscated by Nazi authorities from Jewish citizens in 1938, was found in an envelope in a government office in the small Bavarian town of Lichtenfels, Germany. The district administrator gave them to his former history teacher, thinking it might provide a research opportunity for his students. And it did. The students were able to locate relatives of many of these individuals in the United States, Israel, and Argentina who assisted in filling in the missing details. Among the descendants was Lisa Salko, who will be leading this presentation, as she takes us on an emotional journey of hope.
