Rev. Michael Hilbert, S.J.

Arriving at St. Ignatius in 2014 was in many ways a homecoming. I grew up in White Plains, went to Fordham Prep, and after graduating from college in 1973, I entered the New York Province of the Jesuits. My life as a Jesuit was spent mostly abroad—first in the Philippines, then China, and finally in Rome, as a professor of Canon Law. Breathing my native air again, and serving as Associate Pastor, have re-awakened me to the joys of parish life and the grace of my vocation.

Rev. William Bergen, S.J.

I am a native New Yorker, born in the Hamilton Heights area of Manhattan, a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Grammar School, Regis High School, and Fordham College Rose Hill campus. After college, I was drafted in the U.S. Army and spent two years stateside just after the Korean war had ended. Upon my discharge, I entered the Jesuits and was ordained in 1965. I embarked on graduate studies in theology at Catholic University in Washington, D. C. and then taught theology at St. Peter’s College in Jersey City for six years. I was always drawn to parish work and began my parish ministry at St. Ignatius Loyola parish in Baltimore. In 1989 I came home to St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Manhattan.

Fernando Castro

I have been the Treasurer for St. Ignatius Loyola Church, St. Ignatius Loyola Grammar School, and Preschool since 2005. I manage and oversee all financial affairs of the Parish organization. There is a great sense of community working towards a common goal at St. Ignatius, and this makes it an enjoyable work environment.

Bob Cisternino

I have been at St. Ignatius Loyola church since 2017. Being involved in our life safety upgrades, elevator project, and ambitious livestreaming program is proof to me that we are building a home for everyone. St. Ignatius feels like home to me and is unlike anywhere I have worked before. From the leadership on down, the environment I experience inspires me to be better.

Elizabeth O’Sullivan

Raised practically steps from St. Ignatius Loyola, I am a native of New York City and the Upper East Side.

A graduate of Dominican Academy and Manhattan College, I’ve held editorial roles in the book and magazine publishing industries. As an editor for book producer The Reference Works, I developed and produced titles for Sterling Publishing, a Barnes & Noble subsidiary. Transitioning to magazines, I became Associate Editor for the NYSE Euronext publication Corporate Board Member Magazine. In 2013, I pivoted once more, joining the parish staff and returning to my spiritual and neighborhood roots.

Kate Noonan

I am thrilled to work with the youth of the St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish this year as the director of our Interparish Religious Education Program (IREP). I have spent the last ten years in Youth Faith Formation ministry and truly value the sense of community youth faith formation brings to a parish. The enthusiasm of the IREP teachers is contagious!

Jean Santopatre

Since joining the staff at St. Ignatius Loyola in August 2019 as a Pastoral Associate for Social Justice, Young Adults, and Family Ministry, I have reconnected with my New York roots. It is an utter joy to be a part of a vibrant and warm parish community grounded in social justice.

I stay in communication with my ministries by creating inspirational Flocknotes and weekly visual sermons.

I am delighted to be a spiritual director and companion with parishioners in Ignatian Spirituality and care for our common home and family.
