Join Circle of Friends for an inspiring exploration of Thanksgiving celebrations through the lens of visual art. Visions of Gratitude invites participants on a cross-cultural journey, examining how artists from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time periods have expressed themes of gratitude, harvest, community, and giving thanks.
Our November program will feature artworks spanning traditional, contemporary, and indigenous representations of thanksgiving; insights into cultural traditions surrounding gratitude and harvest celebrations from around the world; a discussion on how historical and modern artists have interpreted the spirit of Thanksgiving in their works, and a special focus on how the American Thanksgiving has been represented in various artistic styles and narratives.
Come celebrate the season by seeing Thanksgiving in a whole new light—through the eyes and hands of artists who have captured its meaning in powerful and beautiful ways.
Registration is required at [email protected].
There is no fee for this program, but a free-will offering is suggested.
