The Emmaus Group of St. Ignatius Loyola offers a safe environment, enriched by our faith, where we meet to share our sorrow, our stories, and our victories over sadness. As a community of faith, we find comfort in the promise of Jesus to be with us always.
Just as Christ walked on the road to Emmaus with the disciples who grieved after His death, so He walks with each person who mourns the loss of a loved one. For each of us, our journey from loss to healing is unique and personal, but need not be walked alone. As we listen to each other, we also hear the gentle, comforting voice of Jesus … “I have not brought you this far to leave you alone.”
Emmaus Bereavement Support Group
A 6-session education and support group for those who are grieving the death of a loved one at least 3 months prior to the start of the program. The group is guided by an experienced bereavement facilitator. The sessions are held over a period of 6 to 8 weeks in order to give the participants time to absorb the material.
An Annual Memorial Liturgy will be announced.
